Stage Movement Journal 1/29

We learned our locomotor movements, body dynamics, and then played with stage picture. Here is the beginning of one of our "machines" and then, the end. Go here for a clip of one of the phrase guessing-game rounds we played. ~ Prof. Jenn

A week late, but I'm here! :D

Hi All!

My name is Rezal Martinez and I have been in school forever. Haha. I love learning though so I'm not too upset about it. :)

I attended DU for a brief spell where I was working toward a double major in Theatre and International Studies, then I was a film major at the Art Institute of Denver, and now I am a Theatre major and Psych minor at Metro! I feel I've finally figured out what I want to do with my life: help others through counseling as a Psychologist.

After graduating I'm hoping to get my masters in either Drama Therapy or Psychology and then get my doctorate so I have a long road ahead.

I know quite a few of you from theatre and other venues, but I am looking forward to meeting the rest of you and deepening our friendships!

See you all Saturday. :)

Introduction, etc.

Greetings, my name is Roberto.

I'm a senior at Metro, English with a writing concentration is my major, theatre is my minor. I've taken the stage combat class, but it was eons ago (back in the dark ages of '06). I can't remember much from the class, but I still remember my stage falls as they've come in handy in nearly every other class I've taken.

I'm a huge nerd. Not really a shocker in a theatre course, but I thought you all should know. I'm currently doing a lot of work with a nonprofit called "5280 Comic Book Classroom" and hope to have much more exciting news regarding that come March. I'm also dramturge for Major Barbara.

That's me in a nutshell. Hope to learn more about all the rest of y'all in the future. See you Saturday.................................Roberto

Hello my name is Danielle, I just spent last semester studying in France. I was a BFA Musical Theatre major but I am now in the process of switching to a French major/ Theatre minor. I have done a few of the Metro shows in the past and have really enjoyed them. I was also recently engaged over Christmas in Europe, so fun stuff!

I look forward to learning to move for the stage with all you fine people!

Silly Walks

In honor of class 1/22, wherein we built different characters by altering our walk, I present to you The Ministry of Silly Walks. That is all.   ~Prof. Jenn

Actually, he is the most adorable and perfect dog EVER!!! He is my baby. Right now I live in Parker and love living in Colorado!

There is no Movement Without Rhythm

As we move closer to our first class meeting, think about the normal movement activities you do every day. Do you have a particular, peculiar rhythm in your world? Have you ever noticed a song or a dance happening in regular movements in your world?   ~Prof. Jenn
